Elizabeth Chau was last seen in 1999 walking back from Thames Valley University after she submitted an assignment. When she didn’t return home that night her family was immediately worried. The final sighting of Chau, who was Vietnamese, shows her on CCTV outside Ealing police station on April 16, 1999. The case never progressed due to lack of witnesses but nine months later another young woman, Lola Shenkoya, then 27, vanished from the same road sparking concerns that the disappearances were connected. However, the new leads did not lead to Elizabeth’s discovery. Elizabeth’s family have spoken on several occasions about their ongoing grief, saying that they “can’t move on” until they know what happened to her.
