Aron Kato, who is from Newham, disappeared in East London after being pushed into a black BMW in Ley Street in Ilford, according to CCTV. The investigation escalated to a murder probe by the police in July 2019 and they arrested one woman and several men aged 25 to 39 on suspicion of kidnap. All were released later under investigation or on bail. Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman from the Met said regarding the case: “All our inquiries and appeals have failed to locate Aron and I am deeply saddened that we have had to accept that this is now a murder investigation. Aron’s family are understandably distraught and we are doing all we can to help and support them.” Kato’s girlfriend, Chanel Naidoo, said that he called her around midnight the night of his disappearance telling her he is heading home after a night out with his friends and that he loved her. On the last day before he went missing, Kato spent time bowling and visiting a park with his new-born son at the time, Naidoo and his niece.
