Mary Flanagan

Missing Date: 12/31/1959

Age: 16 at disappearance, would be 79

Mary Flanagan is the Met’s oldest missing person case. A teenager at the time, she never returned from her work’s New Year’s Eve party. There was a renewed appeal by her family in 2013, her 70th anniversary. They said they want to “leave this world” knowing what happened to her. Police said they would like to speak to Tom McGinty, who her family believed to be her boyfriend at the time. They believe he’s the integral to the mystery of her disappearance, “it is key that we trace this man as he may be able to shed light on the events around new year in 1960.” Soon before her disappearance, Flanagan, McGinty, and her father got into an argument, and Mary told her younger sister she plans to end the relationship.
